Students of the University of
Phoenix are expected to develop and continually improve the Core
Competencies. As far as I am concerned, I expect the same of myself, as well.
Regardless of the class I am teaching, be it sociology, general education or
management, I will do all I can to help students with their Core Competencies.
Of course, when it comes to Oral Communication, I have (no pun intended)
virtually no opportunity to help Online students. I hope students will come
to realize that these Core Competencies are not restricted to their academic
pursuits, but are applicable to all aspects of their lives.
